Hilary joined Arvay Finlay in 2024 after clerking for two justices of the Court of Appeal for British Columbia.
She has a broad interest in public law litigation, human rights and privacy.

Hilary completed her J.D. at the University of Victoria where she received the Law Foundation of BC Public Interest Award and the David Strong Leadership in Legal Studies Award. During her time at the University of Victoria,
Hilary participated in the Wilson Moot and co-founded the University of Victoria’s Law Students for Harm Reduction and Decriminalization group.

Hilary’s passion for human rights and advocacy was fostered in her past work in non-profit, where she developed and
 facilitated programs aimed at creating social change. She also holds a B.A. in English Literature from McGill University.
