Emma is called to the bars of both British Columbia and Yukon. She joined Arvay Finlay in 2019 after clerking for six justices of the BC Supreme Court. Her practice areas include administrative and constitutional law, as well as general civil litigation. She has appeared in the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the Supreme Court of Yukon.
Emma completed her J.D. at the University of British Columbia where she received the Law Foundation of BC Public Interest Award as well as academic awards in constitutional law, civil procedure, and legal ethics. Emma also holds a B.A. in International Development (First Class Honours) from McGill University.
Prior to her call to the bar, Emma worked as a legal advocate at the Bella Coola Legal Advocacy Program and as a student clinician at the UBC Indigenous Community Legal Clinic where she received an award for distinguished advocacy.
Emma acted as a legal and policy researcher for the Mass Casualty Commission, an independent Commission into the April 2020 Nova Scotia Mass Casualty.
