Emily joined Arvay Finlay in 2025 after clerking for four justices at the Supreme Court of British Columbia. She is interested in administrative, constitutional, human rights and environmental law.

Emily attended law school at the University of Victoria. As a law student, she received the Joseph Arvay Social Justice Award and the Law Foundation of BC Public Interest Award. Emily summered at BC’s Office of the Human Rights Commissioner and an environmental law charity. She also spent a semester in the Environmental Law Centre Clinic. Emily has previously volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers.

Emily holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University, where she double majored in journalism and human rights. Prior to law school, she interned with the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to adequate housing, worked as a journalist, and spent five years in non-profit communications.
